Freshwater Fisheries and Hatcheries Division of DNR Concludes Fall Trout Stocking MDBAL, October 27, 2024January 31, 2025 Fall put and take trout stocking activity has now concluded for the season, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources said. In total, 27 water bodies were stocked with 15,000 brown, rainbow, and golden rainbow trout, averaging more than a pound each, to provide trout fishing opportunities throughout the fall. Although the fall stocking has wrapped up, staff are busy preparing for future production and the 2025 spring season. Anglers are encouraged to check the Trout Stocking webpage for stocking updates as pre-season stocking gets underway early in 2025. Trout Stocking Resources: Specific trout stocking details and locations can be found on the DNR trout stocking map. Fishing licenses and trout stamps are available for purchase online.
